Before breaking for the holidays, TNS members enjoyed several activities that celebrated Christmas. Paige, assisted by her sister Haley and friend Kodi, demonstrated how to put together a hot cocoa recipe and prepare as a gift. They assisted the members as they prepared their own to take home to their families.
Learning about poinsettias was very interesting. Ms. Madeline, one of our volunteers, helped us all to understand that the red part of a poinsettia is NOT the flower–but the LEAVES. Look deep into the plant to find the little, bitty yellow flowers! The leaves turn red during this part of the year–why?? They change due the lack of sunlight!
Our last day before the break was spent at volunteer Ms. Barbara’s house. What a fun day filled with game playing, candy jar making, movie watching and Christmas carol singing!!
The Next Stop resumes on Wednesday, January 14th.
