The Next Stop enjoyed two different kinds of “parties” this week! One day we had a “tea party”. Yes, our members not only dressed up with some fun top hats, beads and tiaras, but also sampled black tea, green tea and jasmine tea. To top off this new experience of hot tea, chocolate fondue was prepared and everyone enjoyed dipping pretzels, angel food cake, strawberries and bananas. Everyone participated in this new social experience–and by the noise of the conversations, they must have enjoyed themselves!
A special thank you to volunteers Karen and Barbara for organizing the event and decorating the tables!
Our second party theme was “Super Bowl tailgating”. A whole different kind of party that included 4 different dips that were prepared by 4 different groups. After eating them up, the winners of the best liked was a tie–the artichoke/spinach dip and the Mexican cheese dip.
We also enjoyed some football fun in the gym and reviewed our football trivia. By the way, according to our expert members and volunteers, the Arizona Cardinals are going to win–we’ll see!
Some of our members were interviewed along with Stu and Vicki on Thursday. Our new friend, Daphna, stopped in to find out more about The Next Stop. Daphne is on a “journey” across America – going to 50 states in 52 weeks. Go to www.50in52journey.com to find out more about her incredible search for stories of good things going on in our country. She is going state to state and The Next Stop was fortunate to be one of the Georgia representatives! Keep checking Daphne’s website to see what our membershad to say!
