How do you celebrate the 162nd birthday of Alexander Graham Bell? Well, The Next Stoppers enjoyed experimenting with sound traveling across a string–just as Mr. Bell did with his invention of the first telephone. With volunteer Madeline outside the room, she said “a color” into her can—it traveled across the string and to the other can–and into the members’ ears. Everyone proudly announced the color they heard!
With Justin supplying the pizza for his birthday celebration, the members made a homemade salad to go with it. There was a job for everyone with chopping, slicing and tearing.
Broken down into groups, the members discussed answers to their assigned “What would you do? question with their volunteer. Then, as one big group, we discussed and made sure we each knew the answers. This is an effort to prepare everyone for situations they might face such as “What would you do during a thunderstorm with tornado warnings?”
Always a fun time playing Family Fued with our great big family!
