Program Volunteers

Our program volunteers are essential to The Next Stop. We call them the HEART of the organization because without them we could not exist. Their commitment to The Next Stop and to our members is invaluable. We are fortunate to have such a devoted team!

These volunteers serve as mentors to our members. Operating within small groups of 6 members and under the leadership of The Next Stop’s occupational therapist, they engage in the day’s planned activities and support our members’ participation, learning, and understanding.

Program Volunteer requirements include

  • At least 21 years old
  • Background check and fingerprinting
  • Availability weekly Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday from 1:00—5:00 or occasional substitute
  • A pre-visit to The Next Stop to best understand the role of a volunteer, the program and our goals
  • Note: Those seeking volunteer community service hours are not an appropriate fit for The Next Stop’s needs
